Through this program, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the College’s outstanding accomplishments in promoting the deep integration of scientific innovation and industrial innovation in healthy animal production, as well as its academic leadership and industry impact in this field. The College possesses strong industrial resources and has established extensive and in-depth cooperation with leading enterprises in such areas as smart farming, animal nutrition, and animal disease prevention and control. Distinguished experts from industry are invited to serve as off-campus mentors, forming a solid support network for practice-oriented education. The 4th International Symposium on Honeybee Health Held in Hangzhou

HANGZHOU, Nov. 14–16, 2025 – The 4th International Symposium on Honeybee Health took place at Zhejiang University’s Zijingang Campus, bringing together over 220 researchers from 18 countries and 62 institutions.Hosted by the College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University, and supported by the National Bee Industry Technology System, the event featured 110 abstract submissions.The opening ceremony on November 15 was chaired by Professor Huoqing Zheng. Professor Peter Neumann (University of Bern, Academia Europaea), Professor Jinrong Peng (Zhejiang University), and Professor Liming Wu (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences) delivered opening remarks. Plenary lectures were given by Professor Peter Neumann, Professor Stephen Martin (University of Salford), Professor Michelle Flenniken (Montana State University), and Professor Hao Zheng (China Agricultural University). Review of the 2024–2025 Summer Smart Agriculture Program at Wageningen University & Research

ZJU Students Travel to the Netherlands to Explore the Future of Smart Agriculture. From August 24 to September 6, 2025, the College of Animal Sciences at Zhejiang University organized a two-week summer program on Smart Agriculture at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. Led by Professor Tizhong Shan and two other faculty members, 27 students participated in the program. The program covered key topics such as digital agriculture, agricultural robotics, intelligent livestock farming, and plant breeding. Students attended lectures by WUR professors and industry experts, and visited research platforms and enterprises including the WUR Dairy Farm, NPEC, Phenomea, Koppert, and the Bayer Experience Center. College Delegation Shines at Apimondia 2025 and COLOSS Conference

A seven-member delegation led by Professors Hu Fuliang and Zheng Huoqing recently returned from Copenhagen, Denmark, after representing the College at two of the world’s premier apicultural events: the 21st COLOSS Annual Conference and the 49th Apimondia Congress. Figure 1. Group photo of our attendeesFounded in 2008, COLOSS is a global scientific network of over 2,000 members from 120 countries. During the conference, Professor Zheng Huoqing updated the assembly on the preparations for the 4th International Symposium on Asian Honeybee Health. In the subsequent executive elections, Professor Zheng was re-elected to the Executive Board and appointed as Vice President of the organization.Apimondia is the world’s oldest and most influential international apiculture event. The 2025 Congress attracted over 8,000 representatives from 140 countries.    Figure 2.
