HANGZHOU, Nov. 14–16, 2025 – The 4th International Symposium on Honeybee Health took place at Zhejiang University’s Zijingang Campus, bringing together over 220 researchers from 18 countries and 62 institutions.Hosted by the College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University, and supported by the National Bee Industry Technology System, the event featured 110 abstract submissions.

The opening ceremony on November 15 was chaired by Professor Huoqing Zheng. Professor Peter Neumann (University of Bern, Academia Europaea), Professor Jinrong Peng (Zhejiang University), and Professor Liming Wu (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences) delivered opening remarks.



Plenary lectures were given by Professor Peter Neumann, Professor Stephen Martin (University of Salford), Professor Michelle Flenniken (Montana State University), and Professor Hao Zheng (China Agricultural University). Eight invited keynote speakers also addressed the symposium, including Professors Chuleui Jung, Scott McArt, and Aslı Özkırım, and Dr. Kirsten Traynor.
The symposium was co-organized by multiple academic and industry bodies, highlighting global collaboration on honeybee health across Asia and beyond.
