I. Qiushi Distinguished Professor

Requirements: Top scholars from home and abroad who have achieved systematic and creative accomplishments in relevant fields, made significant contributions, and possess extensive international academic influence.

II. Qiushi Distinguished Scholar (Includes Qiushi Distinguished Chair Professor, Teaching Professor, and Engineering Professor Positions)

Requirements: Applicants should hold full professorships or equivalent positions at high-level universities. Candidates should enjoy broad peer recognition, possess the capability to lead the discipline to international leadership or advanced standards, demonstrate strong teamwork and organizational/management skills, and be under 55 years old as of January 1 of the application year.

Tenured Professors should meet the standard of tenured professors at top domestic and international universities, with internationally recognized academic achievements in their field, notable international visibility and impact, and outstanding performance in teaching, research, and talent cultivation.

Tenured Associate Professor should meet the standard of tenured associate professors at top domestic and international universities, having achieved original and important academic results with certain international recognition, and good performance in teaching, research, and talent cultivation.

Requirements: Ph.D. degree from a high-level university at home or abroad, with academic achievements equivalent to an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at top international universities. Candidates should generally be able to independently establish an academic direction meeting disciplinary growth requirements, stand out among peers in their research field, and possess the potential to become academic leaders in their area. Applicants should generally be around 35 years old.

College Advantages

I. Premier Research Platforms

The College consists of the Department of Animal Sciences, the Department of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Special Economic Animal Sciences, and the Institute of Feed Science, encompassing two primary disciplines: Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine.

Leveraging Zhejiang University’s top-tier academic reputation and advanced research platforms, the College vigorously promotes interdisciplinary studies. It hosts the National Engineering Research Center for Green Feed and Healthy Aquaculture, the Veterinary Medicine Center, and a Teaching Veterinary Hospital, along with 9 provincial and ministerial-level key laboratories.

II. World-Class Faculty

The College emphasizes talent recruitment and cultivation, and has built a globally competitive faculty team featuring "leading scientists at the helm, young talents taking the lead, and outstanding researchers as the mainstay." The College currently has 37 person-times of national-level talents and 59 person-times of provincial and ministerial-level talents.

III. Achievements and Output

Over the past five years, actual research funding received amounted to 562 million RMB, with an average annual research funding of 1.43 million RMB per person; 18 provincial and ministerial-level or above science and technology awards were obtained, including 1 National Second Prize and 5 provincial and ministerial first prizes as the first affiliation; over 1,036 SCI papers were published, including one paper each in Nature and Cell as corresponding author and first author respectively, and 154 papers with IF > 10; 20 monographs and works (including translations) were published; 8 international patents and 186 invention patents were authorized, along with 31 computer software registration certificates; and 15 national and industry standards of various types were formulated and promulgated.
