ZJU Students Travel to the Netherlands to Explore the Future of Smart Agriculture.
From August 24 to September 6, 2025, the College of Animal Sciences at Zhejiang University organized a two-week summer program on Smart Agriculture at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. Led by Professor Tizhong Shan and two other faculty members, 27 students participated in the program.
The program covered key topics such as digital agriculture, agricultural robotics, intelligent livestock farming, and plant breeding. Students attended lectures by WUR professors and industry experts, and visited research platforms and enterprises including the WUR Dairy Farm, NPEC, Phenomea, Koppert, and the Bayer Experience Center. These visits demonstrated the practical application of technologies like AI, drones, and digital twins in modern agriculture.

The summer program broadened students’ international perspectives and strengthened academic exchange between the two universities.
